Re-Introducing the Glenfield™ Firearms Brand with an All-New Rifle: The Glenfield Model A
October 29, 2025
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce the reintroduction of the Glenfield™ Firearms brand. Acquired as part of the Marlin asset purchase in 2020, Glenfield returns with the launch of the new Glenfield Model A bolt-action rifle. Proudly American-made, the Model A was crafted to make hunting accessible to everyone – whether you're just starting out or adding to your collection.
Highly inspired by the Ruger American® Rifle Gen I, the Model A carries forward that same practical, no-nonsense spirit. After nearly 14 years and almost two million Gen I models produced, the original developed a devoted following, and the Model A honors that legacy by carrying forward the most valued elements of the Gen I. Priced at an MSRP $100 below comparable Gen I models, the Model A delivers trusted performance with even greater value.
The feature-rich Model A is ready right out of the box. It features a textured Moss Green Splatter stock and a matte black finish on the receiver, threaded barrel and bolt handle. The adjustable trigger offers a crisp release with a pull weight that is user adjustable between 3 and 5 pounds. Additionally, the one-piece, three-lug bolt with 70° throw provides ample scope clearance. Model A rifles will be available in several classic calibers, including 308 Win, 30-06 Sprg, and 270 Win.
"We're excited to bring back the iconic Glenfield Firearms brand with a new product that reflects Ruger's dedication to manufacturing affordable, American-made firearms for any and every hunter," said Ruger President and CEO, Todd Seyfert. "The Model A is a practical, reliable rifle built for hunters of all experience levels and we're proud to bring it to market under the Glenfield name."
This rifle was built with simplicity in mind – no frills, just the essentials. Whether it's your first season or your fiftieth, the Model A is a straightforward tool you can trust – affordable, reliable and ready for the field.
The acquisition, ownership, possession and use of firearms are heavily regulated. Some models may not be legally available in your state or locale. Whatever your purpose for lawfully acquiring a firearm – know the law, get trained and shoot safely.
